Launch Video

The launch was a huge success, although a few people couldn’t fit in. I missed Emilie Zoey Baker while trying to organise other things, there but was a huge response – as I expected, given how great the poem she recited is, and her generally awesome MCing. Mal Webb was his usual astonishing self, Ben McKenzie both funny an pertinent, and Keith Nugent very moving. Thanks to them all.

People really seemed to love my speech. Of course people will usually say nice things at these sorts of events, but this seemed to go past that. The wonderful Liz Ingham filmed it (unfortunately owing to a miscommunication she missed the others, so I can’t show them here. The lighting was terrible for filming, and she had to cut some bits (primarily the thanks to my editor Guy Nolch) to make it fit within the ten minutes Youtube allows.

Still here it is – judge for yourself if it is as good as people say.
